Biography

Hayley is a full time musician and string teacher based in Southwest Minneapolis. She has served as principal cellist of the Lirica Chamber Ensemble, associate principal cellist of the Kenwood Symphony, and multi-instrumentalist with three different folk and rock groups. Hayley is most recently founder and cellist of the Alcott String Quartet and section cellist of the Twin Cities Symphony. Though her background is mostly in classical music, Hayley’s parents instilled in her an enthusiasm for all types of music, from Stravinsky to Motown to the misty mountain sounds of the Appalachians. As such she has come to lead a very eclectic musical life, and is happiest when she has found a new territory to explore.

Over the course of her career, Hayley has discovered a true joy in teaching. She currently maintains a thriving private studio, teaching strings and ensembles to all ages and abilities, as well as music appreciation to elementary age students.
